Hey, Moms: Don’t you wish AI could help with this?

I recently read about a woman who’s so productive using AI that she’s writing a book, getting a Ph.D. and running a company all at the same time! I’m not sure if she’s raising kids, too, but that would really blow my mind.

My first reaction was: Jealous!

Then I took a beat. Isn’t AI supposed to provide more efficiency so we get time back not to work so much? Still, I guess it’s human nature, particularly for the curious and ambitious, to want to do more.

I always think I should be doing more: More learning, more working, more spending time with the kids, more working out, more walking the dog, more writing, more cleaning.

I know AI can help teach me, brainstorm with me, strategize with me, research for me. But, what I’d really love the technology to do is assist me with the more mundane “Mom” tasks that siphon time away from me every day, such as:

  • Help me find the week-old lunch containers with rotting food in my daughter’s backpack and clean them

  • Warn me that the half-and-half that hasn’t reached its expiration date (and still smells OK) will curdle as soon as I add hot coffee

  • Pick off the stubborn lint from my daughter’s brand new black pajama pants

  • Turn the socks from the dryer right side out

  • Sign up my daughter for summer camp – without having to click “forgot” password to login

  • Fill out the millions of schools forms!

  • Find the ear buds at the bottom of my purse

AI, take me away!

What tasks would you love AI to help you with, if it could? LMK in the comments below.
